Paul Mass made the career change to financial services in 1997, after working in the textile industry for a few years. Though he started his financial practice from the ground up, he was no stranger to the field. His aunt had been successful in the insurance business, and he had been exposed to personal financial planning at a young age.
Paul had always imagined he would work with people and with numbers. He pursued an accounting major at Hofstra University but ultimately decided against becoming an accountant. A college internship at the Guardian Life Insurance Company gave him a taste for a potential career path as a financial service professional. As a recent college graduate, he initially resisted the idea of building his own practice. Several years later, however, a chance encounter with a recruiter at a high-end advisory firm in New York City convinced him to give the idea a second chance.
Working with Wall Street professionals, and later with CEOs, executives, business owners, and specialty physicians, Paul built a financial services practice that continues to thrive today. His practice went through several iterations as he joined forces with a partner to form Sentinel Solutions. In 2015, Paul made the decision to leave the partnership to pursue a practice more focused on financial planning. He named his new firm ClearView Financial Solutions – in acknowledgement of the work he and his team do to help his clients gain clarity, organization and control of their personal finances. “I have been in this line of work long enough to witness the positive impact of the strategies we put into place,” Paul explains. “I love the fact that we’re able to guide people who want to provide financial security for their loved ones, because nothing in life is guaranteed,” he adds.
ClearView Financial Solutions offers comprehensive financial planning, investments and insurance to business owners, individuals and their families. Paul enjoys the opportunity to work with smart, capable people who often face complex financial scenarios. “Every situation is unique,” says Paul. “Finding an appropriate solution is a challenge I enjoy.” Paul’s approach is collaborative and educational. He finds that when he can help clients understand why a strategy makes sense, they can become active participants in making meaningful financial decisions. Paul frequently collaborates closely with other subject matter experts to ensure that his clients receive the knowledge, expertise and service they deserve.
Outside of work, Paul unwinds by playing golf, cycling and completing very complicated jigsaw puzzles. He applies the same patience to finding solutions to his clients needs as he does to solving the massive puzzles that can be viewed in his office.
Paul is FINRA Series 6, 7, 63 licensed. He also holds Life and Health insurance licenses in several states.
He resides in Bellmore, NY, with his spouse, Andrea and their children.
